APA Citation Guide (7th edition) : Statistics

This guide shows you how to cite using APA 7th edition

Tips

Author

Most Statistics Canada documents will have the author as Statistics Canada. This is considered a group or corporate author.

When the government department, agency or committee that created the document is also the publisher, omit the publisher information from the citation to avoid repetition.

Publisher

Because the author and publisher are both Statistics Canada, the publisher's name is omitted from the citation.

Formatting

Note: All citations should be double spaced and have a hanging indent in a Reference List.

A "hanging indent" means that each subsequent line after the first line of your citation should be indented by 0.5 inches.

Statistics Canada. (Year of Publication). Title of document: Subtitle if given (No. Report Number if given). url

NoteBecause the publisher and author are both Statistics Canada, you do not need to identify Statistics Canada as part of the retrieval statement.
