The Literature Review Step by Step: Step 3

Step by step process for writing a literature review.

Step 3: Searching the Literature

Now that you have determined a research topic and understand your main ideas that support your thesis, you begin to gain more knowledge by searching current literature. During this process you take time to read, make notes, think critically, and determine the main points of your paper. Decide what resources are relevant to the research and use for your paper. Based off of the literature available and the evidence you are finding, you may refine your thesis statement. On the Overview tab, you can find searching tips for the library catalog and google.
