The American Experience is a collection of resources about many of the subjects woven into the fabric of American history and government.

It includes digitized primary sources - original documents, manuscripts, and records of events created at the time the events occurred. Other primary sources are letters, diaries, film, audio recordings, photographs, speeches, and music, to name a few.

Secondary sources, which analyze, interpret, and retell the information found in primary sources - textbooks, encyclopedias, books, and articles - are also here.
