What is Sarbanes-Oxley?

"An act to protect investors by improving the accuracy and reliability of corporate disclosures made pursuant to the securities laws, and for other purposes."

This legislation, enacted in response to a series of corporate financial scandals, helps protect against fraud and maintains a standard of ethics and corporate responsibility.
