Interlibrary Loan: Research Tips

Check Library Catalog

Did you find a useful-looking source, but you can't see the full text? Try checking our library catalog.

  • Copy-paste the article title into the search box of the Brenau library catalog.
  • This will search many databases at once. If Brenau has online access, the material will appear with a "View Full Text" or "View eBook" option. Often, you will be required to sign in with your Brenau username and password if you haven't already.
  • Materials owned in print will appear with the item's shelving location.

Requesting Dissertations & Theses

Be sure to check the Dissertations database by ProQuest before submitting an ILL request for a Dissertation or Thesis. In addition, some full text dissertations are available when searching Google Scholar. You can also try searching for the specific Dissertation Repository associated with the author's university.

Check Google Scholar

  • The Google Scholar Link below is specific to Brenau and provides access to full-text items that the Library has paid for.
  • Be careful of search results from certain websites including ResearchGate, Academia.edu, and Semantic Scholar. These are like social networking sites for academics, and the articles found there may be illegally posted without permission of the copyright holder.
